Paper books to Ebooks

1. Coevolution and Coexistence: 

Nowadays, paper books and Ebooks coexist and coevolve in the market and the same book can have both the paper version and the electronic version.  

2. Metamorphosis: 

From paper base to electronic base. To adapt to this trend, the design of paper book becomes more dedicate to attract more readers. 

3. Propagation: 

Electronic version still carries the same content as the paper one. This new form of books can be easily promoted through multiple channels to different people. For example, ecommerce site such as Amazon can recommend Ebooks to potential readers based on users’ preferences, and readers can read the first few pages (preview) for free before they buy it. 

4. Survival: 

In order to survive in the market, paper books adapted itself by changing its marketing strategies from focusing on the content to its format, to advocate a traditional reading style and slow-paced lifestyle. 

5. Opportunity and need: 

The shift of people’s reading habits from paper reading to electronic reading and the emergence of internet technology provided the need of Ebooks and the opportunities. Additionally, from the economic perspective, Ebook is more affordable than paper book.

6. Delayed adoption:


Many people are hesitating to adopt Ebooks, because they think that electronic version doesn’t fit with their reading habits.
